Tasting Notes

Nose: Black fruit, black olive, spice and violet, as listed in Canadian retailer notes for a recent vintage.

Palate: Dry and full-bodied, with present acidity and a generous mouthfeel.

It is one we point customers to when they want a full-bodied Rhône red with black fruit and spice.

How It Differs

The other Rhône red we stock is Belleruche Côtes du Rhône, a regional Côtes du Rhône built mainly on Grenache and Syrah. Les Gadilles carries the Rasteau name instead, and Rasteau reds must be at least 50% Grenache noir.

How to Serve

Serve it at 14 to 16°C. Retailer pairing notes point to lamb satays, burgers on the grill and cheddar.

Ideal for: weekend dinners, sharing a bottle over a grilled spread, and a gift for a Rhône red fan.

Pairs with: for its black fruit, spice and full body we suggest char siu, black pepper beef, Indian-Malaysian lamb curry and Malay satay.

You can also find it on the Les Gadilles brand page, and Château Magnol 22 is a Bordeaux red if you want to compare it with another French red.
