Tasting Notes

Nose: Intense and fruity, with blackcurrant and raspberry and a hint of white pepper, as given in retailer listings of the producer’s notes.

Palate: Juicy and full-bodied, with red fruit, roasted notes and silky, delicate tannins.

It is the Côtes du Rhône we point customers to when they want a juicy Rhône red for a grilled dinner.

How It Differs

The other M. Chapoutier Rhône red we stock is Les Gadilles Rouge Rasteau, a Rasteau from the same southern Rhône built on Grenache and Syrah. Belleruche carries the broader Côtes du Rhône appellation instead.

How to Serve

Serve it at 16 to 18°C. Retailer pairing notes point to grilled and roasted meats, lamb chops, pizza and pasta with a lamb ragu.

Ideal for: weeknight grilled dinners, sharing a bottle over a meat-led spread, and a present for a Rhône red fan.

Pairs with: for its red fruit, white pepper and silky tannins we suggest char siu, black pepper beef, Indian-Malaysian mutton curry and Malay satay.

You can also find it on the Belleruche brand page, and Grant Burge GB43 Merlot is another red for the dinner table if you prefer an Australian Merlot.
