Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet pear and citrus fruit with a soft floral note, over vanilla and dry oak, with faint sherry and a whisper of smoke.

Palate: Orange marmalade and fresh pear, then spice and hazelnut, with a touch of soft smoke.

Finish: Long, dry and slightly spicy.

We pour a lot of aged Scotch at Mr. Chow’s, and this one leads with the pear and orange before the oak and spice arrive.

How It Differs

The Signature Blend is the 21 Year Old that Royal Salute says has not changed since 1953. The Miami Polo Edition is a separate 21 Year Old, the first Royal Salute whisky fully finished in first-fill rye and first-fill bourbon casks in a pink flagon.

Royal Salute suggests drinking it neat, with water, served with ice, or in a cocktail.
