Tasting Notes

Nose: Muscovado sugar, caramel, blackened fruitcake and lemon zest, as described by Difford’s Guide.

Palate: Caramel, slightly woody, with fruitcake, generous dried fruit, molasses and bitter chocolate.

Finish: Slightly bitter, with dry nutty notes.

It is one we point customers to when they want a VSOP-category cognac that works on the rocks and in a highball.

How It Differs

Noblige is a VSOP made for Asian markets, and Martell’s Alexandre Combescot calls it one of the most popular VSOP in Asia. The Martell X.O Brandy is a separate bottle in the Martell range, for when you want a different cognac from the same house.

How to Serve

Martell suggests it on the rocks, with soda water, in a highball or in a cocktail. Its sweet caramel and dried fruit hold up to ice and soda.

Ideal for: a relaxed dinner at home, a highball for guests, and gifting to a cognac drinker.

Pairs with: to match the caramel and dried fruit we suggest char siu, soy-braised duck, and Indian-Malaysian mutton varuval.

More from the house is on the Martell brand page, and Hennessy X.O is another 1000ML cognac to compare.
