At a Glance

  • Brand: Jägermeister

  • Origin: Germany
  • Botanicals: 56 botanicals, with orange oil from Sicilian oranges and mandarins
  • Volume: 1000ML, the size sold here
  • ABV: 33%

Tasting Notes

  • Character: The signature herbal notes of Jägermeister meet the zesty sweetness of orange, with bold, fruity aromas and a smooth, bitter edge.

We have poured plenty of Jägermeister at Mr. Chow’s, and with the Orange the citrus sweetness comes through first, then the herbal bitterness.

How It Differs

Orange keeps the herbal character of the original Jägermeister and adds Sicilian orange, at a slightly lighter strength. To compare the two, we also stock Jägermeister Liqueur [700ML].

How to Serve

The brand’s own suggestion is an ice-cold shot: freeze the bottle and the shot glass, then pour. At Mr. Chow’s we would also try it over plenty of ice with a slice of orange for a longer, slower drink. For another orange-led bottle, we also stock Cointreau Liqueur [700ML].

Ideal for: group nights, house parties and shot rounds with friends.

Pairs with: our picks for its citrus sweetness and herbal bitterness are Chinese-Malaysian salt and pepper squid, Malay ayam goreng berempah, and Indian-Malaysian tandoori chicken.
